| Resumo: | Este trabalho tem como objetivo mostrar como os treinadores de futebol da Seleção Brasileira eram retratados nas primeiras Copas do Mundo (1930/1970) pelas páginas do jornal O Globo. Utilizando da análise de conteúdo de Bardin (2011), o trabalho categoriza as menções aos treinadores em positivas, neutras e negativas, como forma de ajudar a entender como se forma, no imaginário popular, a figura destes treinadores. O objetivo é identificar se ao longo do tempo há uma evolução na menção aos treinadores, seja na quantidade de vezes que eles aparecem nos jornais, seja na forma como são descritos nas reportagens do jornal carioca. Para deixar a análise mais concisa, foram analisadas as edições de véspera e pós-estreia, além das edições da véspera e do dia seguinte à última partida da Seleção Brasileira nas Copas. O trabalho mostra que a imagem do treinador se modifica ao longo dos 40 anos, mas sem transformá-lo em protagonistas do jogo, papel que seguiu sendo dos jogadores. |
| Abstract: | This work aims to show how the Brazilian team's football coaches were portrayed in the first World Cups (1930/1970) in the pages of the newspaper O Globo. Using content analysis by Bardin (2011), the work categorizes mentions of coaches into positive, neutral and negative, as a way of helping to understand how the figure of these coaches is formed in the popular imagination. The objective is to identify whether over time there is an evolution in the mention of coaches, whether in the number of times they appear in the newspapers or in the way they are described in reports in the Rio newspaper. To make the analysis more concise, the eve and post-premiere editions were analyzed, in addition to the editions from the day before and the day after the Brazilian team's last match in the World Cups. The work shows that the image of the coach changes over the 40 years, but without transforming them into protagonists of the game, a role that continued to belong to the players. |
