O engajamento como aderência de significação perceptiva na proposta epistemológico-corpórea de Maurice Merleau-Ponty

Abstract

This Master's research aims at understanding the position of a corporeal engagement in the epistemological proposal of Maurice Merleau-Ponty as the main factor of a sense adherence to the perceptive subject. The philosopher shows the need for an epistemological understanding that is not limited to the subject-object dichotomy and which brings through the perceptive experience itself an intrinsic relation between the perceptual subject and the world, which puts the understanding as a manifestation that does not move from the reality that it glimpses, but which remains with it in a compromised way. Engagement thus represents this inescapable adherence which demands from a bodily consciousness the direct understanding of its phenomenological relation to the world, without any interiorisations or manifestations of a pure consciousness.
