A representação das mulheres na política institucional: da Assembléia Nacional Constituinte às eleições de 2018

Abstract

In the context of institutional policy, the present research quantitatively analyzes the representation of women in Brazil with regard to the time lapse established between the work of the National Constituent Assembly until the 2018 elections, in order to have, qualitatively, the perspective of representativeness, based on Representation Theories and Feminist theories, in a democracy, mainly, of representing as “acting for” or substantive representation. For this analysis, the investigation seeks some of the barriers faced by women to be elected in the country, as well as public policies, measures legislative decisions and the decisions of the Judiciary to encourage the election of women, but that quantitative data did not translate effectively. Furthermore, facing theories feminist politics, the obstacles to political life linked to issues of intersectionality (when class, race and gender intertwine hindering the female presence institutional politics), as well as those related to the sexual division of labor, in the relations public-private social services.
