A moda como instrumento de conscientização: sustentabilidade e design de superfície em uma coleção sobre a Amazônia

Abstract

From the discussions about fashion and sustainability, this final paper brings the creation of a fashion collection that deals with one of the most relevant subjects in the current scenario: the preservation of the Amazon rainforest. To do this, at first, the paper presents theoretical research that discusses the notions of sustainability, consumption and environment, in addition to the concept of slow fashion, which seeks to counteract the current model of fashion production, the fast fashion. The collection will have as its central communicator the work on the surface of the fabrics, so, still in the theoretical part, the textile surface design will be approached both in its techniques and its potential of fashion communication. The practical part of the work is the development of the collection entitled "Desflora", composed of 15 looks, of which 3 will be manufactured. In addition to focusing on the surface design, the practice will seek to adapt to a creation and production with less environmental and social impacts, bringing natural dyeing, use of bio trims, natural fabrics and reuse of textile waste left on the tissue cutting step for the clothes.
