Linhas que costuram resistências entre a Igreja Católica Romana e a homossexualidade masculina

Abstract

In human relations, through contact with the Other and with the Religious Institutions where the subjects transit, situations of an expanding life arise in the social tissues. In this sense, in this dissertation the notion of homosexual sexuality, as a theme, is delimited in relation to the Roman Catholic Church. The analysis seeks a basis in the Science of Religion and in the understanding of the discourse conveyed by the Catholic Institution in official documents and Apostolic letters from the Post-Vatican II period. This research aims to demonstrate how such documents can affect the relationship between the male homosexual subject and the experience of his faith. The research shows the impact between the two parties that gained ground in the field of scientific research and identifies new social arrangements and sexual identities. The study shows that the sources of this research, documents of Roman Catholicism, correspond to the pastoral guidelines for the sexuality of its faithful that legitimize prejudice, the repression of sexuality and the power over male bodies. On the other hand, this study demonstrates that there are processes of social negotiation between the group of gay men and the Catholic Church, which result in "new tissues".
