Abstract

The aim of this work is to present an approach to the new work modalities that were adopted in the wake of the greatest public health calamity ever seen in recent centuries, caused by an unknown type of coronavirus that originated in the city of Wuhan, China. Due to its transmission, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic state on March 11, 2020. With the mandatory closure of commercial establishments, banks and factories, there was a need to transform residences into offices from which workers kept their professional appointments through the internet. After this period, what can be observed is that this tool has become a new modality of work. As a support for this research, theoretical discussions found on websites, laws and published articles related to the subject were used. Based on the theoretical-deductive method and after relevant reading, it can be concluded that the rapid technological transformation that occurred in this period crossed society as a whole. Even the most resistant surrendered to the use of technology to shorten distances imposed by social isolation. For the home and office to consolidate in this new reality, it is necessary to mobilize society as a whole in order to join efforts to generate structural changes that can guarantee fair, coherent and ethical conditions in labour relations. In this new reality, in which business models are extremely impacted by technology, it is expected that making a profit and the work made by the employee have the same relevance.
