Projeto de preservação da granja Dom Delfim, antiga FEBEM de Muriaé-MG: conservação, restauração e requalificação de uso para uma escola de gastronomia

Abstract

The theme addressed in this work is the asset of cultural interest known as “Granja Dom Delfim”, inventoried by the municipality of Muriaé-MG, focusing on the building that housed its headquarters. The main objective of the movements carried out here is the investigation about the values added to it - based on its history and material permanence - supporting the development of a project for its preservation, which includes, among others, the proposal of a School of Gastronomy functioning in a portion of its vast area. Throughout its life, Granja Dom Delfim went through periods of national historical relevance, such as the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985), when it received the nickname of the State Federation for the Well-Being of Minors (FEBEM), having its use changed, with the over time, as recurrent changes in those responsible for its management, permeating municipal, state and federal powers, including those of a religious nature. As the main methodology, the “Manual for the Elaboration of Cultural Heritage Projects” (GOMIDE, 2005) of the Monumenta Program was used. In this way, analyzes of its history were carried out, which includes landscape, urban and architectural transformations over the years, in addition to the analysis of its state of conservation. In the end, in addition to the intervention project in the building that includes requalification and revitalization actions - and these, in turn, conservation, restoration and (re)qualification of uses -, it is concluded that there is a need for immediate opening of the listing process as a means of legally safeguarding it, affirming the main role of the headquarters building in the landscape and history of Muriaé.
