Apego a Deus: considerações sobre a construção de uma figura ideal

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to explain the relevant conditions present in the composition of an ideal attachment figure deity. The theoretical framework is the attachment theory focused on religion within the Christian scenario. The necessary elements in the relationship between God and the believer are explained so that God effectively functions as an ideal attachment figure. Topics addressed include divine attributes, types of attachment individuals can develop, immediate contextual influences in which the of religious individual, and the cultural influences of the social environment. The chosen methodology was bibliographic research, with Pehr Granqvist's understanding of the attachment-religion connection as the central theme. The study demonstrated that for the Christian deity to achieve perfection as an attachment figure, in addition to the exalted characteristics, the human side of the relationship must have a certain alignment of variables. It was respectively argued that the sublimity of the divine being depends on a complex arrangement involving biological, environmental and cultural aspects of the worshipper.
