Turismo e participação comunitária em Petrópolis – RJ: um estudo dos limites e potencialidades do circuito turístico eco rural “Caminhos do Brejal” para o desenvolvimento do turismo de base comunitária (TBC)

Abstract

The article brings important contributions related to the strategy of tourism development from local community bases in the rural environment. Through a literature review and on-site study, the study aimed to evaluate the limits and potentialities of the "Caminhos do Brejal" tourist circuit to develop Community-Based Tourism (CBT). The results of the study indicate that, although the potentialities outweigh the limitations, the main existing limitation is linked to the lack of internal social integration among the entire group of producers in the region. It is concluded that, when they become aware of this, this limitation will no longer be an obstacle to the necessary social integration in the activity of community-based tourism
