| Resumo: | A ausência de dentes, além de poder gerar redução na capacidade mastigatória, pode afetar a aparência, a fonética, a qualidade de vida, a saúde geral e a dignidade do indivíduo. É uma obrigação do cirurgião-dentista garantir, além da função, o equilíbrio emocional do paciente. Este trabalho compartilha, sob a forma de artigo/capítulo de livro, um relato de caso clínico de recuperação rápida da estética e da autoestima por meio de prótese adesiva direta com reforço palatino. O atendimento inicial emergencial e o passo a passo clínico das técnicas executadas de aumento de coroa clínica, de facetamento em resina fotoativada, da construção de pôntico e sua estabilização por tela metálica palatina são ilustrados e descritos com embasamento na literatura científica pertinente. |
| Abstract: | The absence of teeth, in addition to causing a reduction in chewing capacity, can affect the appearance, phonetics, quality of life, general health and dignity of the individual. It is the dentist's obligation to ensure, in addition to function, the emotional balance of the patient. This work shares, in the form of an article/book chapter, a clinical case report of rapid recovery of aesthetics and self-esteem through direct adhesive prosthesis with palatal reinforcement. The initial emergency care and the clinical step-by-step of the techniques performed for clinical crown lengthening, veneering with photoactivated resin, construction of a pontic and its stabilization with a palatal metal mesh are illustrated and described based on the pertinent scientific literature. |
