Mapeamento científico dos sistemas agroflorestais no Brasil: uma análise bibliométrica do estado da arte e tendências emergentes

Abstract

Climate change exposes the limitations of the conventional agricultural model, which intensifies soil degradation and reduces biodiversity and environmental resilience. In this context, agroforestry systems (AFS) emerge as an alternative that integrates environmental conservation, carbon sequestration, and food se curity. Given the ecological and economic relevance of AFS in Brazil, this study employed bibliometric analysis to assess the state of the art of national research on the topic. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production on agrofores try systems in Brazil between 1982 and 2025, identifying patterns of growth, institutions, leading journals, and research themes. There is a significant expansion of the bibliographic output from 2010 onwards, with emphasis on the subthemes of soil, biodiv ersity, sustainability, and Brazilian biomes, as well as the recent emergence of agroecological and family farming approaches. We observed that research on AFS in Brazil is still characterized by low consolidation and editorial and institutional concentrat ion. Overall, the results indicate a scientific field in expansion, with increasing thematic diversification and significant potential for deepening integrated and methodologically structured approaches that strengthen the role of agroforestry systems in e nvironmental and productive sustainability in Brazil.
