Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains one of the major global public health problems. As a mycobacterium, its cell wall contains both hydrophilic and lipophilic layers, which confer low drug permeability and reduce the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics. Furthermore, the treatment of this infection has a minimum duration of six months, and the early improvement of symptoms often leads to its interruption, favoring the emergence of drug-resistant strains. This scenario highlights the need to search for new therapeutic alternatives. In this context, silver(I) compounds have attracted attention due to their antimicrobial properties and the non-specific mechanism of action of the metal ion, which reduces the likelihood of resistance development. The coordination of silver(I) with sulfadiazine, a widely known antimicrobial agent, and with triphenylphosphine, which is capable of increasing the lipophilicity of the complex, represents a promising strategy for obtaining compounds with potential biological activity. Thus, this study aimed to synthesize and characterize new silver(I) complexes containing sulfadiazine and triphenylphosphine in different ratios (1:1:1 and 1:1:2). Characterizations were performed by elemental analysis, thermal analysis (TG/DTA), vibrational spectroscopy in the infrared region and Raman spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H, 13C, and 31P), as well as heteronuclear correlation HMBC {15N,1H}, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The obtained results confirmed the formation of the complexes, allowed the evaluation of their thermal stability, and enabled the elucidation of their structures. Furthermore, future studies are intended to evaluate the biological properties of these compounds, particularly their potential as candidates for the development of new antituberculosis agents.pt_BR
