A Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) como instrumento de renegociação e reestruturação das dívidas dos clubes de futebol brasileiros: o caso do Clube Atlético Mineiro

Abstract

The Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) was established as an alternative to face the high indebtedness of Brazilian clubs. In this context, this research aimed to analyze how the SAF contributes to the renegotiation and restructuring of debts, through a case study of Atlético Mineiro. The research is characterized as qualitative, descriptive and documentary, based on the comparative analysis of the pre and post-SAF periods. The results indicate that the adoption of the SAF favored the financial reorganization of the club, with advances in the debt structure, management and revenue generation. However, it was found that the effects of the restructuring are still limited by the short period of implementation of the model and the persistence of high financial burdens arising from historical liabilities.
