A relação escritor/arquivo: uma proposta para se repensar o lugar da autoria

Abstract

The present study aims to launch a discussion about the relevance of the figure of the author for the literary studies. It is departed from the confrontation of the Barthean thesis of the author's death. The literary work is presented here as a result of a hard labor, developed by meticulous research undertaken by the writer himself. The sources into which he dips in order to withdraw elements to be reconfigured in their work are, here, metaphorically portrayed as archivistic instances, based on the reflections upon the concept of archive. This works also intends to suggest that the authorship shall have its proper place within the literary studies, aim which is intended to be achieved having José Saramago‟s novel O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis as its basis. The resumption of the question of the authorship finds its subsidies in the very literary work once its writer is, in this such case, an ostensive acting figure who makes himself ever-present in his works, such as reader or critic of his own work.
