Abstract

This research investigates the relationships between art, health, and territory, developed from experiences lived in the neighborhood Dom Bosco, in Juiz de Fora (MG), both in the artistic field, through participation as a PIBIART scholarship at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) with children from the territory, and through the work as a Community Health Agent (CHA) at the neighborhood's Basic Health Unit (BHU). The neighborhood, as a peripheral territory, is shaped by racial, historical, and socioeconomic issues, revealed in this research through listening to residents, especially senior citizens. The aim is to construct a narrative that does not stem from exoticization or precariousness, but rather from the appreciation of oral traditions, belonging, affections, and lived experiences. The photographs produced within the artistic project and the experiences developed in the daily life of the BHU constitute the poetic and methodological path of this research, articulating images, memories, and narratives. This research adopts escrevivência, a concept developed by Conceição Evaristo, as a methodological tool for writing, articulating lived experience, memory, and narrative production.
