Abstract: This article examines the relationship between beauty and power in the "The One Percent" fashion show by the Matières Fécales brand, characterizing itself as an exploratory and explanatory study. The main objective is to analyze the show, its elements, and the construction of its narrative as a translation of a discourse into wearable garments. Specific objectives include understanding power relations, fashion as an extension of political discourse, and the construction of image in contemporary society. The method employed is based on bibliographic and documentary research, encompassing books, articles, and research in the digital environment, on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and news portals. The study addresses power relations, fashion as a language, and the grotesque aesthetic of the brand to critique the capitalist system and the luxury industry. The show, divided into three acts, exposed social inequality and the relentless pursuit of beauty standards, such as the "Mar-a-Lago Face" and the use of weight-loss drugs. The study points out that fashion possesses an undeniable political character, critically engaging with the contemporary scenario and times of crisis. The objectives were achieved, demonstrating how designers translate the proposed narrative and how fashion can manifest itself in a disruptive way, distancing itself from superficiality, even though criticizing luxury from within luxury itself is somewhat controversial.
