O trânsito religioso protagonizado por umbandistas e candomblecistas no Terreiro do Pai Carlinhos Cabral de Oxum: uma análise da convivência religiosa dentro de um terreiro misto em Juiz de Fora

Abstract

This thesis aims at analyzing the African-Brazilian religion known as Umbanda and the religious syncretism between the members of Umbanda and the members of Candomblé in the backyard of Carlinhos Cabral, Father of Oxum. We analyze the major changes in the physical space, symbols, rituals and relationships of the subject of faith in the yard with the arrival of Candomblé to this sacred place. We will also address how the member (son of the yard) constructs his religious identity through the contact with specific elements of tradition (Umbanda) and modernity (Candomblé).
