A ação da justiça e as transgressões da moral em Minas Gerais: uma análise dos processos-crime da cidade de Mariana, 1747-1820

Abstract

The main objective of this dissertation is to reflect on the action of the justice and the moral transgressions in the mineira society of the second half of the XVIII Century and the first decades of the XIX Century. We search through analysis of criminal cases to express the rules of the social behavior and conduct placed about violence, revenge, and honor, as well as to check the social meaning of justice, its action spaces, and over all the manner which the population establish relations with this power representation. That way we can locate the points of intersecting of these behavior and value models with the action of the justice in the mineira Colonial Society.
