Bacharelado Interdisciplinar em Ciências Humanas: um estudo de caso sobre comunicação

Abstract

This research, done in the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, had the objective of analyzing the resulting effects of the existence of gaps in the communication between the Secretaria do Instituto de Ciências Humanas and the students of Bacharelado Interdisciplinar em Ciências Humanas. The obstacles to communication, our object of study, were analyzed from data collected from freshmen, students and graduates of Bacharelado Interdisciplinar em Ciências Humanas and the administrative technicians in education allocated in the ICH secretary. The key question of this research refers to the effects and repercussions resulting from communication gaps between the ICH Secretariat and the students of the Interdisciplinary Bachelor in Human Sciences and the objective is to analyze them. Questionnaires were applied to the three groups of subjects and the set of information thus obtained served as a mapping for the occurrence of these obstacles, which impact the experiences of freshmen and graduates of the institution, as well as the routine of work in the sector. It has been found that the necessary information is available, but that in general they are not adequately accessed or understood. It was also possible to identify that previous experiences can favour their assimilation. The results are corroborated by what is described in the literature. Measures such as the implementation of virtual discussion forums, the ICH student manual and the creation of a local graduation council, among others, are proposals, elaborated based on this research, so that in the first instance, it can minimize the difficulties and, ultimately, favour the administrative procedures and the daily work of the servitors allocated in the ICH, as well as to have a positive repercussion in the academic referral of the students.
