Desdobramentos do Escola Sem Partido: um estudo de caso na Câmara Municipal de Juiz de Fora

Abstract

Among the most varied disputes in the social and political fields throughout the history of contemporary societies, one that is always at the center are discussions involving education and school institutions. The aim of this research is to present the emergence of the School Without a Party Movement, and to show how it, which began with a father’s indignation at the school and alleged indoctrination by teachers, ended up becoming a nationwide political project, strongly supported and embraced by the so-called “New Right”. Going deeper, we’ll see how, in the city of Juiz de Fora, where the School Without a Party Project is supported by a conservative group in the city, even though it didn’t manage to get the Movement’s Program approved, it ended up advancing and evolving this dispute into a “unfolding” of this project, and thus approving several Bills originating from the School Without a Party Movement.
